Bajaj Boxer 150 and Platina 125 discontinued
Bajaj Auto is going to discontinue Boxer 150 and Platina 125.Both these bikes are the value offering from Bajaj.Bajaj expected high volumes from the models. They had given good numbers on the initial stage. But couldn’t keep up.Because better products has caught the segment.Bajaj Boxer 150 is the cheapest 150 cc motorcycle from Bajaj. They tried to catch small cities and villages.Bajaj Boxer 150 sold more than 1 lakh bikes each month after the launch. But soon after the initial kick sales started to coming down.
One of the major cause for Boxer was the lack of build quality. So Bajaj decided to discontinue the model from the domestic market.Bajaj will continue exporting of Boxer 150.Bajaj Platina 100 is one of the big hits in India and the platina 125 also got good numbers. But the fortunes had changes for Platina.Better bikes from others and Bajaj own Discover has caught the imagination of the buyers. This resulted decline of sales for platina.Like the Boxer 150 Bajaj will export the bike. This will Bajaj to focus on model which gave them good numbers.
