Skoda India is testing the Octavia in many cities. Last time Octavia was testing in Bangalore and Mumbai. Now it’s the turn for Pune. A white Skoda Octavia has seen testing in Pune. Unlike the other test mules this ones has LED day time running lights and Sun roof. which indicates that this is high end variant. Skoda hasn’t camouflage the new Octavia. This is the new strategy companies have been following for some time now. Ford is doing the same strategy with Eco Sport. This will makes the product more famous even before the launch. Skoda India will increase the ground clearance of Octavia to make it better for India. We also expect suspension tuning for India.
2013 Skoda Octavia will be first car in India to get Volkswagen MQB platform. New Skoda Octavia is longer and wider than the current Octavia which is Laura in India. Skoda will offer premium features in the Octavia. Interiors will be much more sophisticated. Skoda has increased the length and width of Octavia. Space in interior will be the best in segment. Skoda Octavia will be powered by 1.8 L TSI and 2.0 L TDI engine. We expect Skoda to also introduce 1.4 L TSI engine in Octavia in entry level variants. Internally known as the I100, the final version will likely be powered by a supercharged 1.5L three-cylinder engine of around 165-185hp working in tandem with two electric motors—one aiding the gas (or possibly diesel) engine in driving the rear wheels, and a second sending power to the front tires. here may also be a M version, using the 450hp turbocharged inline six purportedly powering the next-gen M3 and possibly even swapping its batteries for supercapacitors, which absorb and release energy faster than batteries do. No word whether or not this M model would in fact be considered the long-heralded return of the legendary M1, but given the way rumors about that car have found a way of attaching themselves to the EfficientDynamics concept like burs, it wouldn’t be too surprising. Nissan knows that its benchmark is the 911 GT2; this means that their current GT-R model has a lifespan of 5-6 years at most. It has been confirmed that the R36 will n
ot be a complete new model, just an evolution of the current model.
According to British sources, the 2013 Nissan GT-R R36 program is still on track, despite the current financial issues. The Japanese company will continue its plans with the electric cars and the LCVs and the 2013 Nissan GT-R R36 which will be an evolution of the current model. This means the 2013 Nissan GT-R R36 will be powered by the same 3.8-liter V6 engine thats under the hood of the current version and develops 480 PS (353 kW). As Chrysler has gone from being American to German and now Italian, we wait with baited breath to see what’s going to happen from America’s favorite automotive commodity. So far, the buff books seem to be pleased with Fiat’s plans and executions.
But what about the Viper? The one symbol of Chrysler’s creativity and virility from 20 years gone practically went limp in 2010. Then, with new blood, there were fears that a new Viper would be based on Alfa Romeo’s 8C Competizione – not a bad thing necessarily, but that ain’t a Viper. So it’s with some jubilation that we’ve learned that Chysler’s own Ralph Gilles has stated that the next Viper will not be based on anything else.
Gilles said that the 2013 Dodge Viper will use weight-saving materials and t
echnology – but not parts – from Ferrari. Gilles continued that, “everything would be changed,” but the new Viper wouldn’t ride on Ferrari or Alfa underpinnings; concluding that the dimensions were quite dissimilar from the Alfa 8C.
Gilles said the Viper will always be V10 powered, hinting that the new V10 engine in the Dodge Challenger V10 Drag Pak and Viper ACR-X, which share the same 8.4-liter, 512 cubic-inch V10 producing 640 horsepower – would be more likely than the V10 powering the Le Mans-raced GTS-R which made 700hp and capable of a 210mph top speed.
However, Gilles claims that the 2013 Viper will be “a more forgiving car to drive and accessible to more people,” which to me means that the visceral experience of driving a Viper is going to evolve into something more mature. Will the 2013 cease to be the Viper we know and love? I haven’t driven one, so why am I complaining already?! We’ve got less than 18 months till the new Viper hits the showrooms, and if Fiat’s current crop of Chryslers is any indication, I think there will be no room left for complaints.
